Brief

Sentec, a globally leading supplier of smart home technology and consultancy services, took the maiden lease on the iconic Radio House office scheme in Cambridge.

The first stage in the process was to meet with the client to understand their current work set up, its limitations and its advantages as well as getting all the technical requirements. The space totaled 14,000 square feet and needed to seat 70 staff whilst also incorporating laboratory space with an EMC Chamber, workshop and store, a large break out area for staff with two kitchens, various meeting spaces that can be combined into a suite for staff and visitors with good acoustic isolation to protect client IP, a drying room with drying lockers for staff gym/cycling clothes and lockers for folding bikes as well as an external lift to direct access for lab deliveries.

We proposed initial layouts and designs that we felt used the space in the best way possible as well as fostering the open plan, collaborative working style that Sentec required.  We then incorporated all feedback and changes until a final design was agreed.

As well as managing the installation we worked with building control throughout to ensure compliance for final sign off.  We also worked with Sentec to relocate them from their current premises to Radio House.
